Chris

Chris is a retro style armchair with metal hairpin legs and feather filled lumbar pillow, with no arms. Designed by Italian artist Umberto Asnago for Bodema, it is part of a collection of modern lounge and bedroom armchairs inspired by furniture classics reimagined in a contemporary vein. An exclusive addition to the range, Chris embodies the mid-century spirit that characterised 1950s living furniture - and still enhance vintage style sofas, accent chairs and accessories. The tribute to the retro flare is paid by the metal legs - a clear homage to the iconic and sleek design of the post-World War American hairpin legs. Their beautiful minimalism contrasts with the great volumes of the seat, made of a bentwood structure without arms. Balanced proportions and formal research go hand in hand with attention to comfort, provided by polyurethane foam paddings in different densities and a lumbar cushion filled with feathers. A masterclass of Italian craftsmanship, Chris suits stylish residential or contract settings. Customisation involves both the legs and the cover, available in a range of high-end fabric or leather upholsteries in classic or neutral hues. You can also go for a soft velvet cover fully enhanced by trendy colours such as mustard, purple, red, petrol green, peacock blue, fuchsia, orange, light blue or amaranth.
